The Transformers Idaho story is quite intriguing. Back in 2005, a small family from Northern California moved to Nampa, ID, with the aspiration of starting a little church. However, their plans took an unexpected turn when a recession hit not long after they arrived.
Instead of giving up and heading back, the family decided to stay put and make Nampa their new home. Father, Husband, and handyman extraordinaire , decided to put his skills to use. He launched a small business fixing things around the valley.
After a while, they started working with a local contractor who had connections with a company that invested in properties. This contractor liked their work and asked if they could help out on some projects he didn’t have time for. As they showed how much they cared about doing things right, they got introduced to the big bosses at the investment company.
A significant moment came when the original contractor was moving away and offered them all his work. The family had to think hard and pray about it before deciding to team up with the firm.
This investment firm was using the tough times of the recession to turn beat-up houses into nice ones that people would want to buy. And that’s how they got the name “Transformers” – like turning something old and tired into something new and exciting.
At first, the firm wanted to hurry up and get things done fast. The family knew that sometimes that was okay, but other times, it needed more care and thought. They even said no to some jobs if they thought quality would be sacrificed just to finish quickly.
But then, things changed. They got the chance to really put their own ideas into action on a few projects. And guess what? Those houses sold quicker and for more money. The managers of the investment company realized they were onto something good. So, from then on, they gave The Transformers a budget and let them take charge.
That was a thrilling time for the company They went from fixing small stuff like toilets to completely redoing whole houses in less than a years time. It was a big change, but it brought big growth too.
After a super busy time fixing up and working on investment properties (yeah, we’re talking about getting our hands on and renovating 127 of them), the word has spread and brought us a bunch of new clients. It’s honestly hard to express how grateful we are for all this ongoing work. Our main focus has been on doing up kitchens and bathrooms β that’s where our passion lies and what keeps us pumped!
Nowadays, most of our customers find us through our social media posts, and a lot of them are folks we’ve worked with before or the skilled people we bring in to help out. We’ve built some really cool friendships with these talented tradespeople, and that’s opening up so many new doors for us. We can’t thank them all enough for sticking with The Transformers Idaho and supporting us every step of the way!
As things have been pretty chaotic and bustling, we’ve had to be selective about the projects we take on and the people we can help. There have been instances where we’ve had to say no to some really exciting projects, which honestly hurts. You see, we’ve always been this small family-owned business from a little town. But now, the time has come for us to step up and become a bigger player in the construction scene.
We’ve been really fortunate, and in 2023, we proudly announced that The Transformers Idaho had expanded to the Magic Valley area. It’s been a dream of ours to reach new clients in the Greater Twin Falls region, and now that dream has become a reality. By setting up shop in the Magic Valley, we’re spreading The Transformers Idaho brand and bringing our skills to a market that could use more contractors to not only fix up houses but also truly transform them. This expansion has given us the chance to dive deeper into other services too β things like Roofing, Siding, and Window installation. We’ve decided to make a bigger effort to reach out to new clients who need these services. Don’t get us wrong, our heart is still set on making incredible changes to kitchens and bathrooms, but by adding these other services more consistently, we can help more folks and make an even bigger impact on the Idaho housing scene!
